· What kind and how much work is your horse doing?

· What kind of footing do you ride on?

· What is the footing in your horse’s turn-out like?

· Do your horse’s feet ...

Yes, he came right off the kill-buyer's beat-up truck. That was in autumn of 1975 -- he became mine in February 1977. The barn where I took lessons was owned by a real old-time horseman who knew all the ways to save money (most of them good, some of them not as aesthetically pleasing as others...but I digress). And one day, that included a thin but energetic ...

In May 2003, I purchased my first horse, a QH cross, named Buddy. He was an older horse, but that was ok with me since I needed something dependable to learn on. He made a great first horse and I learned a lot from him. Unfortunately arthritis in his back leg became progressively worse and I didn’t feel it was fair to him to be ridden anymore.

We decided to find a forever home for him as a companion horse. We thought we found a great home for him and gave him for free in May 2007, to ...

My horse is getting lippy

My horse is becoming really lippy lately. It's like he's going to bite, but he doesn't. If you don't move your hand, he'll just then either sniff it or lick it. However, if you're not aware of this quirk of his, you'd think he was trying to bite as he does it very quickly, like a horse who does bite. Any advice on how to get him to stop this?
